FirstMerit was looking to consolidate several smaller offices throughout Southeast Michigan into one centralized space to foster collaboration and a strong culture of empowerment among its employees. Davis & Davis was brought in to create a timeless, elegant space with finishes that reflect the well established and stable company that FirstMerit has created in its 171 year history. The use of modern lighting helps provide an updated feel, while the refined use of cherry wood, granite and stacked stone portray the quality and stability appropriate for the banking industry. A large break room with several collaborative spaces provides an environment that both encourages communication and fosters working relationships among executives and employees alike, two cultural elements that make FirstMerit the success it is.
