SMZ, a full-service marketing and advertising agency in Troy, Michigan, enlisted Davis & Davis to provide an innovative design for their office that would be both functional and energizing. The design centers on the interaction of the employees and offers several flexible and collaborative spaces. Meeting rooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass, allowing privacy while still contributing to the open office concept. The office has an industrial feel with sealed concrete floors, exposed steel columns, and an open ceiling. Rich wood accents in the reception area provide warmth and contrast to the industrial materials used while graphic flooring and wall covering create interest and foster creativity. Inspiration and innovation play a pivotal role for an advertising firm and our goal for this project was to design a space that cultivates and encourages this creative process.
